All our wood comes from suppliers of sustainable and responsibly managed forests that are  PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.  For our oiled woods we use a hard wax oil finish made from various plant oils, waxes and resins.  It is saliva and sweat proof and also suitable to treat children’s toys.

 If we were to highlight one of the woods, it would have to be one with extraordinary qualities: Swiss Pine.  This conifer grows in the high levels of the Alpine region and has for generations enjoyed a very special reputation.

You will often hear people there saying: one sleeps better in beds made from Swiss Pine.  As a matter of fact, a study by the Johanneum Research Institute (Graz, Austria, 2003) had found that Swiss pine has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and encourages sound sleep.  Among the findings was that heart rates in the vicinity of Swiss pine appear reduced.  To make optimal use of this effect we only finely sand down the Swiss pine wood without any further treatment or finish.

You can also decide on the colour of your bed, which leaves you with many design possibilities.  Solid woods from native forests such as beech, red beech, cherry and walnut – in addition to the many wood stains on offer – allow each bed to display its individual character.

Various levels for slat placement – to accommodate all commonly used slat models.  Cleverly devised joints provide high stability and the smooth surface make for an aesthetically pleasing appearance and an over all good feeling.
